Look Out MN...Here we Come! :)

Day 1
We left Paragonah around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1st. We packed a cooler full of food so we would only have to stop for gas. Lucas fell asleep as soon as we hit the road.
First state- Colorado. (One down, three to go!)
The mountainous part of Colorado was amazing. We found our future hometown- No Name, nestled in the Rocky Mountains along I-70. After passing through the Continental Divide, Colorado took a turn for the worse and we were happy to see Nebraska.
Nothing too exciting about Nebraska- just flat, monotonous, scenery.
Thank goodness for mobile DVD players! Lucas was absorbed in Shrek (and many other movies) for most of the day. It was a lifesaver! After nearly hitting a whitetail on the freeway, we stopped for dinner in Lincoln, NE around 9:00 p.m. and decided to call it a day. (A very long day!)

Day 2
After a quick oil change, we were back on the road.
Iowa was a little better then Nebraska, but not a whole lot. They had a little more trees and these really cool windmills along the road.
These ones were right next to the road but they went out as far as you could see. It was kinda neat... and really windy. :)
Playing peek-a-boo with Lucas. I was really surprised with how good of a traveler he was! There were only a few times that he even asked to get out of his car seat and, even then, was easily distracted with food, books, toys or movies.
Minnesota at last! As soon as we got into MN, we drove over a huge lake and knew we were getting close. Another 1 1/2 hours and we reached our destination- Plymouth, MN. Yay!

  2. It's so impressive how on top of it you are with taking pictures as you enter each state! I wish I had done something like that, because it's a fun way to show your story. Lucas sure is a great traveler! I KNOW I wouldn't have even lasted that long in the car without a serious break. Great job. You three are troopers.
