Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I've never really done anything for this day but being (or trying to be) the fun mom that I am, I did manage to pull a few tricks out for the occasion! What better way to celebrate with kids then with green Kool-Aid and Lucky Charm treats? (I know what you must be thinking and I'll admit, it was pretty lame, but give me a break- he's only 1 and doesn't care yet.)
I also found these killer shades at the store and couldn't pass them up! They were a hit!
This little guy is seriously so much fun! He definitely keeps me (us) on my toes on a daily basis! He's almost 22 months now and acts like he's the man of the house. He's had a bit of an attitude lately (his most used word is "No") and a little mean streak going on (that I'm hoping will soon pass) but usually he's very happy! Here are a couple of my favorite things he does now...
- Whenever he wants us to pick him up he'll stand at our feet with his arms in the air and say "Hold you".
- He can count to 7 by himself. (And will go to 10 as long as someone will help him finish.)
- He's starting to learn colors. At first, he usually says everything is blue but he's getting really good with the color orange.
- When he says something that would end in mommy or daddy he now puts the word my in front of it. (For example: when I walk into the room he'll say "Hi my mommy.") I love it!
- He does "thumbs-up" by forming an 'L' with his pointer finger and thumb and pointing his fingers in the air.
- He started playing a game with my parents where he will do something and they copy whatever he does. They call it 'Lucas Says'. He thinks he is awesome when they follow him. He'll fold his arms, touch his toes or nose or hair, stand up, sit down, clap his hands, slap his knees and fall on the floor on his belly. It's fun to watch them play together and he could do this for hours!
- He has, what I like to call, a "hand dance" that he's been doing for a few months now and as soon as I can be sneaky and get a video of it I'll post it for you all to enjoy! I really don't know how to even describe it- he starts out by what I can only describe as "raising the roof" and then turns one of his arms so that his elbow is higher then his hand and keeps doing the motion while bouncing along with the beat. I don't know- that sounds weird but it's hilarious!
Never a dull moment with this kid!
