He's still a mommy's boy (for the most part) and wants to rub/tickle my arm when he's getting sleepy. He also doesn't like when Shane gets too close to me and will push him away and say "moose" (move). Don't get me wrong, he loves his daddy but he's not about to share his mom! :)
A few of his favorite things at this age are: cars, balls, tools and books. We gave him a collection of Dr. Seuss books for Christmas and those are his current favorite. He is obsessed with climbing up and down stairs, flushing the toilet and "keenin" (cleaning). He loves to eat apples, string cheese, ice, popsicles, "sikle" and fruit snacks, "nak". When we feed him a meal, the only way to get him to eat all of it is to say "Don't eat this, it's Mommy's." Then he smiles at me, says "K" and devours whatever is in front of him. When I ask him where my food went, he laughs and we do it all over again until his food is gone. It takes awhile to feed him, but at least it makes him eat. And if he's eating something and you tell him to chew good he'll look at you and start chomping his food to show you he is. Quite the smart aleck...
Here are some funny things that he's done lately (that I don't want to forget)...- If someone asks a question starting with who (like who wants... or who is... or who did/does...) Lucas usually answers by raising his hand and saying (more like yelling) "ME"! Over the holiday his cousins were in town and while they were playing at our house Shane asked "Who wants a swirly?" and Lucas says "Surwee? ME" and threw his hand in the air! Not sure what he thought a swirly was but he was pretty excited about getting one!
- If I catch Lucas doing something naughty I always ask him why he did whatever it was he wasn't suppossed to be doing. Anyway- the other day we were eating M&Ms and he kept feeding them to me. Well, I had a mouthful already and he was trying to force another in between my lips and when I told him to eat it he got mad and threw it across the room. I turned my head to look at him and he lifted his arms in a shrugging position and said "Why?" He beat me to it this time and all I could do was laugh! (I didn't realize I did it so often.)
I love being this little guys mommy! :)
He is getting so big Jess and I am so glad you made this post. I dont get to see you guys as much as I would like (although I plan on that changing) and its fun to read what little Lucas has been up to. He's such a sweet little boy and has 2 wonderful parents to thank for that. =)
