Leaves, Pumpkins & Football Games

Before the snow hit, I had to get a picture of Lucas in the leaves. (I tried to get Shane to take us to the mountain where the leaves were beautiful this year, but this is as far as we got.) We weren't sure how Lucas would like being in a pile of leaves but he was surprisingly good. Shane laid him on the top of the pile and he slowly started sinking...

Once he hit the ground and realized that he could actually sit up he had a pretty good time throwing the leaves around and making a mess of himself. (We were picking leaves off of him for the rest of the day.)

Of course, being October and all we had to get a pumpkin for Halloween! Shane and I carved this when Lucas was taking a nap and when he woke up I had to take some pictures. He didn't mind it at first, but once he tried to push it away and it wouldn't move he changed his mind about it.

I'm super excited for Halloween this year! I've always loved it, but having a baby has just increased the excitement. We've been gearing up all month long- most of the books I've been reading him are all about Halloween. Our favorites are "Peak a Boooo Who" and "Five Little Pumpkins". (I've memorized both of them.) He loves the first one because it makes noises and he thinks it's pretty funny when the witch cackles at him. He's such a fun little guy! And don't you worry- I've had his costume for about a month now so I'll get pics posted soon! Good ol' PHS football... It's my brother's senior year and Lucas and I have made it to every single game this season. It has been so much fun! Lucas loves being outside and I think all the people running around and the lights keep him entertained because he is so good when we're watching the games. (Seriously- I don't think he's cried at one so far.) Maybe that's a sign that he'll be a football player when he's older. :) I can't believe that this is Eric's last year playing. I'm definitely going to miss it. Look how cute they are...
